Dialectic Radio 173: El Timbe (BCN) & Kush Arora (SF)
For Dialectic Radio this month I had a rambling chat with San Francisco dread bass maestro Kush Arora, thanks to the wonders of Skype. Treated to some sounds from Kush’s recent catalogue – this show features his Tribal War Mixtape (if you want the mix minus our musings, you can get it here) as well as a stroll through some recent tracks, across his explorations in dubstep, garage, dancehall, all laced with his trademark deep synths. You’ll hear snippets of recent remixes of Elephant Man, Isaac H. Selassie, collaborations with MC Zulu and the amazing Lady Chann (‘Spanish Street Riddum’ has just come out on Top Billin’ so go get it!) We wrap up the little-over-an-hour with Kush’s Arora’s recent collaboration with Nate Mars and vocalist Juakali – the ‘Dread Bass SoundSystem‘ album, which has been looping on my car stereo this month. Go there for some deep, sexy dub.
